For the first time live in Italy, Funny How? is Chassol’s new film and performative project in which the composer explores the musicality of American stand-up comedy. Fascinated by the verbal virtuosity of comedians, Chassol went to meet them in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles. On stage and behind the scenes he captured their voices, their phrasing and their rhythm, and used them as the foundations of this brand new orchestral work. Part documentary, part album and part live performance, Funny How? is a vibrant tribute to the comical and musical power of the spoken word.
